Tim has over 12 years experience in managing enrollment for traditional students and adult learners. As the former director of enrollment marketing for Georgia Tech’s Distance Learning and Professional Education unit, he transformed the marketing organization and grew enrollments and revenue for non-credit certificate programs and conferencing business. As an enrollment manager at Reinhardt College and Mercer University, Tim introduced more sophisticated approaches to attract and enroll prospective students leading to increased enrollment and net tuition revenue growth.
In the last five years, he has consulted with a variety of institutions – ranging from community colleges and comprehensive universities, to small liberal arts colleges and professional, graduate, and continuing education units – on the topics of enrollment management and marketing, CRM, and interactive marketing.
Prior to joining DemandEngine, he created a consulting practice for SunGard Higher Education in the areas of enrollment- and performance management.
In his role of vice-president of marketing for Lectra North America, Copeland led go-to-market efforts for the company’s design software, textile machinery, and consulting services offering. In the early 2000’s, he embraced the use of interactive marketing channels such as email and webinars as part of the company’s marketing mix, the first in the soft goods industry to do so.
He is a frequent speaker at higher education conferences and meetings on the topics of interactive marketing, constituent relationship management, and enrollment performance. He was recently published in the Journal of Continuing Higher Education and College & University, and his written research reports on the use of interactive marketing in prospective student enrollment and outreach, enrollment management in professional and continuing education, and CRM in higher education.
Tim is married (Jennifer) with two children (John and Sarah-Virginia) and resides with his family in Savannah, GA.
