Considering all things digital and social, it's easy to ignore the utility of 'old' media. With Facebook's recent equity $50 billon (yes, billion with a B) valuation, it's tempting to throw the college viewbook, brochure, and catalog out the window and go completely digital.
Recently, though I received a reminder - courtesy of Google - of how powerful direct mail can be.
I received the following direct mail promotion for Google Apps, Google's customizable suite of products including word processing and other office-type functionality, online collaboration, and email, to name a few.
And no direct response message would be complete without reminding the reader of the benefits combined with a strong call-to-action:
It's a good reminder for higher education enrollment managers and marketers that despite the latest tools and technologies, good, old fashioned fundamentals remain relevant.
